Mount Clarence & Mount Adelaide
Thank you Gan Eden Photography for your photos.
Mt Adelaide is the site of the Princess Royal Fortress Military Museum and is the site for the new National Anzac Centre. The Forts Museum is a treasure trove of military history, with a focus on the 10th Lighthorse Regiment. The National Anzac Centre is a commemorative and beautiful place where visitors can reflect on the history and sacrifices of WW1. Mt Adelaide is overlooked by Mt Clarence, home to the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial and the Padre White lookout.
Both Mt Adelaide and Mt Clarence overlook the Atatürk Channel and offer a breathtaking views of King George Sound, where the original Convoy ships were anchored.
There are numerous marked walking tracks throughout the stunning Heritage Park.
Large gum trees line the Avenue of Honour on Apex Drive and at the base of each tree is the name of a soldier lost at war.
