Albany is a stunning place and a photographers dream. Stretching from West Cape Howe National Park in the West through the City of Albany and beyond to the East the Albany Region is a wonderful place to explore and photograph. We will claim Denmark through to Bremer Bay as in our region.

The Old Goal & Museum

Albany Convict Goal Museum Circa – 1852

A complex of Men’s Cell Blocks and some Wardens quarters built in 1852 for Imperial Convicts who were shipped to WA as artisans and skilled labourers.

Thank You Richard Page for the cover photo

Fron 1872 – 1875 Women’s cells, the Great Hall and more Warden’s quarters were constructed in brick.  During this time the complex was also used as a Colonial Prison.  It was last used as a Police Lock-up during the Great Depression in the 1930’s.  From 1989 – 1996 extensive restoration work has been carried and returned the goal to its original condition.  Cells, Warden’s Quarters and the Great Hall contain displays.

Guided and Night tours are available.
